Disability Housing Fundraiser 2021
My Place Portland Project (A Place to Call Home) Hand, Head & Heart Online Auction Now in its second year, The My Place Portland Project aims to build two new permanent homes for five vulnerable adults with high care disability needs at 109 Palmer Street, Portland.
In the last 12 months a small working group of mainly volunteers has managed to raise over $110,000 towards this $1.4m project. Drawing on last years success of the online auction we once again plan to run this event. It will follow the same format and run for a week during November.
Themed “Hand, Head & Heart” between mid September and October we are seeking donations which could be creations made by hand, or gifts given from the heart. A sample of last year’s items included photography sessions, art work, crochet animals, antiques, wooden furniture, quilts, tugboat rides, a back yard blitz, vouchers, the list goes on, hand knitted beanies. Possible amazing auction items are only limited by your imagination.
Please consider donating between now and mid-October to give us time to catalogue and promote. (we can pick up items if need be). It is with regret that due to Covid restrictions the annual Spring Sale Day will not be held in 2021.
