A closer look
The Southern Grampians Shire's Annual Report highlights the challenges and triumphs for Council.
Council achieved a number of successful outcomes including the completion of a number of community infrastructure projects- including the final stages of the Hamilton Regional Livestock Exchange (HRLX) project, the Dunkeld Arboretum Dam Wall, the new Flight Aviary at the Hamilton Botanic Gardens and the HILAC floor replacement.
The report also highlighted the delivery of 93 percent of the entire capital works program.
Posing a challenge to council is rate capping, which they note has continued to impact councils ability to fund service delivery and capital works.
High utility and recycling costs remain an issue.
Additional road works continue to remain a problem that Council would like to address.
The community weren't tremendously accepting of the roll-out of the FOGO bin service either.
