Pickett found guilty

Due to an incident in 2018

28 year old William Pickett has been found guilty of intentionally breaking a teenagers jaw.

On July 28 2018, 17 year old Sam Lamberski was assaulted during the last quarter of a South West District football game between Heathmere and Branxholme-Wallacedade. The incident left Sam with a broken jaw and cheekbone.

William Pickett pled not guilty to the offence, on the grounds of self-defence.

On Tuesday, Magistrate Mark Stratmann said, Pickett acted out of, "retaliation and aggression rather than self defence".

At the time Pickett was on Parole. Pickett was placed on a 12-month community corrections order with the condition he complete 150 hours of unpaid community work. He was also fined $750 for breaching his parole.
