Nationals Member For Lowan Says Industry Is At Risk
The kangaroo pet food industry continues to be jeopardised by the andrews government according to nationals member for Lowan Emma Kealey.
The scheme enables slaughtered kangaroos to be turned into pet food at places like the Hamilton pet food abbatoir, creating viable sources of income and supporting local jobs.
She questions why the labor government hasnt allowed information to be passed through to the federal government so that exporting can commence.
"It's a little bit like being able to shear the sheep but not being able to sell the wool and we're putting pressure on the government so that this great business can thrive in the years to come," Ms Kealey said.
