Hamilton Kangaroos Make Holcome A Life Member
The Hamilton Kangaroos Football Netball Club has made Stephanie Holcombe its newest life member.
Starting as a junior netballer with the Hamilton Imperials before the merger, Holcombe has since played more than 300 games with the club, including two premierships.
She has also contributed plenty off the court as a volunteer with the club and also held various positions including netball director.
Holcombe was presented with the life membership at the club's Crawford-Quinn Medal on Saturday night... where she spoke on what it meant to her.
"It is just a great honour," She said.
"I am so proud to be involved in the club and this is just amazing, I can not believe it."
The newly awarded life member says it was ingrained in her from a young age by her family to be involved with your club as more than a player.
"I just think it is for the benefit of everyone," Holcombe explained.
"The more that everyone gets involved the less people have to do.
"So it is just great for everyone to get involved and to feel like the club is their own and that they are part of the club.
"It is a bit of a family tradition I suppose, and it is just nice to carry on the family tradition."
