In round two of the Hampden Netball League open grade Portland Tigers battled hard against finals aspirant Port Fairy eventually going down 49 to 40.

Trailing by the same amount at half-time the Tigers went goal for goal in the second half.

Another slow start for Hamilton Kangaroos proved costly against South Warrnambool the Roosters winning the match by 15 goals.

The Roos were much improved in the second half and will now look to the ANZAC Day clash with Portland.

In the other matches Koroit defeated Camperdown Terang-Mortlake was too good for Warrnambool and Cobden defeated North Warrnambool 50 to 44.

Hamilton Kangaroos are still searching for their first win of the 2019 Hampden Football League season falling to South Warrnambool by 22 points on Saturday night.

Trailing by just one point and 10 points respectively at the first two breaks a four goal to two third term set up the win for the Roosters.

Portland were stretched without Jake Wilson on Saturday going down to a resurgent Port Fairy by 79 points.

The Seagulls kicked 13 goals to five after half-time.

Koroit won the grand final replay against Camperdown while North Warrnambool smashed by 139 points.

Warrnambool recorded another 100-plus point win this time against Terang-Mortlake.
