Glenelg Mayor's message

Mask, hands and distance

Southern Grampians and Glenelg Shire residents should wear a face covering when leaving home if it is difficult to keep 1.5 metres apart from others.

Wearing a face covering protects the whole community by providing an additional physical barrier to coronavirus.

Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Anita Rank says everyone must continue to follow all the messages the health officers are making crystal clear.

"This is a really difficult period for everybody in our community and there are a number of businesses that have made the decision to close... they’ve done that with the view of protecting their employees and their families."

"...they [businesses] are doing the right thing and I encourage everyone to continue to do the right thing to follow the chief medical officers advice. The message is quite clear that people need to continue to social distance, they need to hand hygiene, and the use of masks is really important."

"I just encourage everyone in the community to do the right thing and keep everybody safe."
