Eight charges laid

A turf club has been charged over the death of apprentice jockey 22 year old Mikaela Claridge from Yulecart.

Ms Claridge was thrown from a horse at Cranbourne racecourse in August 2019.

WorkSafe has laid eight charges over the death and will allege Cranbourne Turf Club failed to maintain the sand trails and ensure it was safe to use and ensure its employees didn't ride the stretch in the dark.
